Amiga Games (and our childhood memories) acquired for $500,000

Writers' Group Film Corp. Announces Execution of Definitive Term Sheet for New Acquisition of Amiga Games Inc.

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwired - Jul 8, 2013) - Writers' Group Film Corp. (OTCQB: WRIT) a Los Angeles-based content distribution company, announced that it has signed a binding definitive term sheet for the acquisition of Amiga Games Inc. ("AGI"), a company which licenses classic video game libraries and re-publishes the most popular titles for smartphones, modern game consoles, PCs, and tablets. The 300+ gaming titles to be distributed by Amiga Games are available to the company under existing licensing agreements with various intellectual property owners. Writers' Group will be making additional announcements over the next several weeks regarding Amiga Games' new and existing distribution arrangements with the best-selling smartphone, tablet and other device manufacturers.

Eric Mitchell, Chairman and CEO of Writers' Group commented, "We are pleased to be working with this well-managed game developer and distributor, and we are excited that we are participating in their growth story through this acquisition. We believe Amiga Games has an established value proposition that can enhance both revenues and returns to our bottom line."

ECB's Costa says Portugal needs consensus, S&P cuts outlook

By Daniel Alvarenga and Sergio Goncalves

LISBON (Reuters) - European Central Bank Governing Council member Carlos Costa on Friday warned Portugal needs to overcome a political rift which could undermine its fiscal adjustment and which Standard & Poor's said could hit the country's debt rating.

Ratings agency Standard & Poor's revised down Lisbon's sovereign credit outlook late on Friday, changing the outlook to negative from stable. Its BB rating for Portugal is still in junk territory.

A political crisis in the ruling coalition following the resignations of the foreign and finance ministers this week threatens to upset progress of Lisbon's programme under its 78-billion-euro bailout from the European Union and IMF.

"This week's ministerial resignations complicate Portugal's already-challenging policymaking environment," S&P said, adding that the uncertainty could damage the country's plans to exit the programme in 2014.

"The negative outlook reflects our view that there is now a more than a one-in-three chance that we could downgrade Portugal within the next 12 months," the rating agency said.

Fitch ratings agency said on Thursday said that prolonged political uncertainty could pressure its BB+ rating for Portugal.

ECB's Costa, who is also governor of the Bank of Portugal, said earlier that Portugal adjustment's programme had been "executed in a rigorous way".

"Yet there is in the population and (among) political agents a feeling of failure, that we missed the targets," he told a conference. "Besides social cohesion, there are important conditions, the first is political consensus," Costa said.

He added that the Portuguese economy, which is in its worst slump since the 1970s, could return to slight growth next year after three years of contraction.

Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho said on Thursday he had found a way to maintain a stable government with the junior CDS-PP partner in the ruling coalition. But a deal still needs to be firmed up and then approved by President Anibal Cavaco Silva.

The premier and Portas held a fourth round of talks on Friday afternoon, local media reported. The president is set to meet heads of the political parties to help resolve the crisis on Monday and Tuesday.

Cavaco Silva told a conference that a negative scenario for the country would be a failure to return to markets as planned in 2014, which could happen due to internal politics or external events.

The returns investors demand to hold Portugal's 10-year bonds, which topped 8 percent earlier this week, fell about 33 basis points to 7.18 percent on Friday as the country tried to resolve the crisis.

PST: Altidore talks future as rumors continue

With rumors swirling of a possible move to Sunderland, Jozy Altidore wasn?t giving out any hints as to his final whereabouts come the end of August.

He remained mum on the possible move, saying that he would be very happy to stay in the Netherlands with AZ Alkmaar, but that he would consider the options if an opening elsewhere presented itself.

?It would not be a problem for me to stay at Alkmaar because I am having a good time here and I have had two good seasons? said the 23-year-old to Dutch media.

?I have not had any problems with my team-mates and I feel fine here. But when you get the possibility to play somewhere else, you always have to think about it. In general, you might be happy in your job and you don?t think about leaving it. But if you have the opportunity to work somewhere else, you will think about it.?

It?s a smart move from Jozy, as things can change in a heartbeat and to reveal too much in the media can be dangerous.? He also may flat out just not know a lot on the situation.

He also made other smart comments, discussing how money is a non-factor in any potential move.? He knows if he finds the right place to advance his career to his best possible potential, the money will follow eventually.

?What still counts for me is not the money, Altidore said. ?I have to know the feeling at a club suits me and I can develop myself as a football player.?

Sunderland have led the charge since day one of the rumblings centered around the striker began, and it could be completed soon with the first day of training fast approaching.

Octopus' blue blood allows them to rule the waves

[unable to retrieve full-text content]Worldwide colonization by octopods is in their blood. They manage to survive temperature habitats ranging from as low as -1.8?C to more than 30?C due to their ability to keep supplying oxygen to their body tissues. A new study shows that a blue colored pigment, hemocyanin, in their blood, responsible for oxygen transport, crucially allows octopods to live in freezing temperatures.
