Dons Jewel all prepared for tossing in success through the Brian Price Dual Distance Trophy ? Heat 1
An unusual entry for the first heat of the Grade OR Brian Price Dual Distance Trophy is the three-year-old black bitch, Dons Jewel. She is the only entry in the line-up who has not raced at the open level recently, and has failed at all the occasions when she tried. The T. Munslow trained is seeking out the winner?s prize money from the total of ?150. The race will be staged at Nottingham over 480 metres on Monday, 10th December.
The 9 to 2 shot for the race will take off from the red trap. The three-year-old has been unbeaten in the last three outings. She has been racing since the previous season and has accumulated all her experience at Nottingham.
On 27th August, she took part in the Grade OR William Hill Ladies Standard Trophy at Nottingham over 500 metres.
Racing in the striped jacket of the sixth trap, she ended fourth after getting baulked when racing in the first position.
The race was won by, Bansha Mo, in 29.98 seconds.
Thinking better of it, the connections redirected her to the Grade A1 races.
Royal Impact?s daughter won the Grade A1 Betfred Mobile Lotto Stakes on 24th November, 2012 at Nottingham over 500 metres. The third trap captured the race despite getting challenged when racing in the fourth position.
The white jacket raced across the wire in 31.17 seconds and set Unusual Girl as the runner-up due to the short head?s lead.
The three-year-old out of, Judicial Bride, then posted in a back-to-back by a storming success in the Grade A1 Cappers Stumpy Stakes on 1st December, 2012 at Nottingham over 500 metres.
Dons Jewel raced from the third trap and reeled in for the wire from the second position. The T. Munslow trained made the transition to the other end of the wire in 29.55 seconds.
Missing the chance due to 1 ? lengths was the most favoured entry of the race, Unusual Girl.
Dons Jewel is bidding for a hat-trick today without any training session and is all set to race from a trap that has not been on the profile since a while now.
